Italian Fountain Elaborate & Wonderful Antique Hand Embroidery Guest Towel

Over the top, and gorgeous!

Antique towel with a fabulous fountain scene, featuring a cherub-like Neptune, a mermaid and merman, handsome youths, fish, and a sailing ship too. All hand embroidered on linen, with elaborate cutwork along the bottom. Likely Italian in origin.

There's nothing about this we don't love! 

Excellent condition, probably never used. Hand laundered, bright and clean, just a tiny pinhole in the linen. Lovelier in person.
