Fabulous antique c1920 French Alencon lace tablecloth, featuring dramatic scenes from the great Calydonian Boar Hunt of ancient Greek mythology. Sculpted nude heroes battle the ferocious beast, spears aloft, dogs lunging in attack. Greek urns at each corner, a wide arabesque borders, and point d’esprit throughout.
Excellent condition, likely unused. Laundered, bright and clean. One or two tiny openings in the lace. Minor, this looks wonderful.
Color is a dusky peach, 68 x 108 inches.
